Hello Friends.
I am having a bear of a time figuring out an issue. I have a clicking/clunking sound from the right rear wheel from a dead stop. It seems to be happening just when loading up the rear end. At first, I thought it might be the brake shield rubbing against my oversized rotor. Not the case at all. It is intermittent and hard to pin down. It is sometimes exacerbated when turning slowly at 10 miles an hour or less. Driveshaft? Guibo, rear axle, CV boots?
all best,
jeff

Re: clicking sound M5
If you need a second set of ears to diagnose, I’d be happy to help out (wouldn’t mind seeing one put together IRL too)
Clicking especially a drive wheel under load usually makes me suspect cv joints.

Jeff, also look at the dog bones, pitman arms. I currently have a similar noise only at the right rear upon initial backup on the M5.
Thanks,
Roger
