Best-fitting quality dash cover?

Post by LarryM »

I don't make a habit of parking - or even driving - my car in the hot summer SoCal sun but I'd like to get a nice dash cover to use when parked during cars 'n coffee events and such. I did buy a "carpeted" DashMat for my car and really not too happy with it; I've seen some E28s at events that have a much better-fitting cover. Do the suede or velour ones fit better? Any other suggestions?

I put one of those in my Lincoln with the same idea. Pulled it off about a year later to clean underneath to find that the previously-perfect dash pad was a cracked mess. Not sure if the carpet made it worse or if it would have failed anyway but I haven't put a rug on any intact dashboard since that time. One of my cars has one, but its a Florida car and underneath its just a horrible mess of destroyed vinyl.
