Hello I have a 83 528e in Delphin Metallic. I am doing some paint repair and was wondering if anyone had any good source for a good paint match. I found this is this a good option has any one had experience with trying to match the old paint? Thanks

No personal experience but this place seems to be a popular source:
https://drcolorchip.com Note that your car's paint has probably faded some over the years, so touchup paint bought via mail order may not match exactly.

Not looking for touch up looking for paint for spay gun. I understand the that it won’t be a perfect match

Your best bet would be to take your car to a local shop that can scan your present paint & adjust to match as necessary. The original formula might not match what's there today.
Others have been happy with

Many auto body supply stores can match the paint, and then package it up in spray cans for you. I did this once for an old Pontiac I used to own and it worked out great, the paint was a perfect match plus it went on much nicer than what you usually get with spray cans. They also have scanner tools so they can look at the existing paint on your car and adjust the mix to allow for fading.
