OBX Headers M20

Before I get all the responses that tell me headers won’t do anything, etc…. I was searching up exhaust options and this popped up at Walmart of all places.
I have a terrible Cherry Bomb exhaust from the previous owner that I’m looking to swap out. I’ll probably end up using a dual in/dual out muffler, but I haven’t really found something that won’t have to be custom fit.
I was just curious. I found it strange that a company would make headers for such a rare/old car. All mods seem to be geared to M30 cars.
I don’t think headers would do much for the M20 anyway.

Walmart says they can get a lot of things.
OBX made a lot of cheap parts for a lot of popular models. I haven't seen that brand in years and many of the products they used to make are available on ebay from various sellers. I don't see these on ebay and I suspect if you tried to order them, walmart would send a message to inform you they are not available.
What year 528 is this for?

That's exactly what I was thinking. But they are listed on the OBX website, so maybe. I wouldn't hold my breath, but maybe. Price is right, go for it if you want them.

I’ve had this happen with a few eBay sellers. You order the part and then they cancel the order because they don’t have it. My car is an ’83.

I was thinking of going for it. From what I read here headers won’t really make a difference performance wise for a 528e. I would like a better sounding car though. And at $212 they’d be pretty hard to pass up.
I thought they may have had these as interchangeable with the e30 but they have completely different pictures with the e30 headers they’re selling. I have to think about this one.

All things considered, the stock manifolds are the way to go here. They fit properly and do not leak, durability is never going to be an issue.
These cheaply made headers will not hold up and are likely to crack. Fitment is likely going to require some grinding and they are likely to leak to significant degree at the flanges.
I once used a turbo manifold from a company like this, may have actually been OBX. It did not slide over the studs and required significant dickering to actually get installed. Once installed, it was so flimsy that the turbo was shaking with the engine running. I had to weld in a bracket to stiffen it up and prevent what would have been almost immediate failure. Over the next several months I had to pull it off and weld/gusset it several times. Eventually, after adding pounds of metal to this thing, it seemed to be durable enough. As delivered though it was completely unsuitable for its intended application.
I think I tried shorty headers a very long time ago. These leaked all the time and constantly blew gaskets. Eventually I gave up and put a stock super ETA exhaust system on, which was quiet and honestly seemed like it ran better. It certainly wasn't worse.

These are down to like $120, I ordered them because I just couldn't resist, and I plan to put an m20b25 in my car sometime soon. Walmart told me they have shipped, so hopefully they aren't more of a headache than they're worth.
