Not putting things away yet just wanted to ask if any suggestions regarding winter storage and mice. Car is in the garage and this past spring found some evidence under hood.
Any suggestions?

Close vents, plug air intake and exhaust pipes. I'm of the opinion that a car cover may not be a good idea, it gives them something to hide underneath. I haven't done this but I wonder if leaving the hood open would also help (again, less for them to hide behind.)
Of course, the best thing is to try to keep them out of your garage in the first place...look for any gaps around doors or the foundation, they only need a 1/4" gap to get in. Put traps around the garage and keep them filled with fresh bait (peanut butter works for me), it's best to locate them right up against the wall as mice tend to skirt around the edges of a room.
I've seen mice eat Irish Spring soap and mothballs, and make nests out of Bounce dryer sheets, so I don't buy into those methods.
