Which cars got the shadowline trim as standard equipment? Did the M535i get it as standard equipment or was it an option?

The standard M535i had chrome with shadowline tail lights. Don't ask me why. All of the non modified M535i came that way.
When I found mine in the salvage yard, I though that someone had changed out the chrome tail lights for shadowline and so I put some chrome ones in.
I have just recently gone back to the original shadowline tail lights.

Duke,
The pics of your car made me wonder. BTW, it looks great!

The Euro market "ECE" M5 typically came standard with chrome trim. Shadowline trim was an option.
The only M535i/M5s that I'm aware of that were equipped with Shadowline trim as standard, was the US/NA M5. The South African M5 was equipped with the full M-tech kit, but I can't recall if Shadowline or chrome trim was standard.

Shadowline trim is a matt/flat black trim rather than the bright finish trim around the windows and tail lights.

I agree with Duke - M535 cars had shadowline taillights and chrome around the windows, US M5s had the full shadowline treatment, and euro M5s came equipped however you wanted them.
