My M5 purchase post

Just wanted to say hey, and I'll probably be hanging around here a bit. I'll post some engine pics someday, it's not super-duper Ron P. clean but it's pretty good! Interior is mostly good, got the dash cracks and some driver seat wear, but overall nice. Paint is shiny, few chips, one or two minor dings, no rust. Mechanical condition, however, is the main reason I went for this one ... and I personally know the last two owners of the car so that puts me at ease. It's seen a lot of track time, but it's been very well-maintained and the major components are all pretty new or recently rebuilt.

Glad to see you made it back O.K. Any Hicupps? How fast did you push it going back? Anyway, good luck with the M5 and nice to see you again.

Only about a buck-ten, and didn't even mean to get there ... dang acceleration sneaks up on you when you're not used to it. No hiccups, the car is totally solid. VERY slight vibration up front around 50 mph, Curt mentioned the RF wheel took a pothole so that's probably it. Car was rock-solid at 85-90 mph, getting ~23 mpg. I want to check out the UCA bushings to be sure, but otherwise it tracks straight, turns in NOW, brakes exactly as expected (which is to say perfect), and really sings at high RPM. I want to record the sound of this motor and play it back as an alarm to get me up in the morning.

Tammer, welcome to the "dark side"! The e28 M5 be it euro or US spec is in a league all by itself. You will love the shit out of this car. Post some more pics when you get a chance.

Why I like 24 valves, individual throttle bodies, dual overhead cams, and headers...
