Annoying vibration sound in resonator?

Anyone have an annoying vibrating noise coming from the resonator while idling? This is making me nuts. Its not lose, just seems like vibrating internally... Someone said it wasnt uncommon on M5's... ANy thoughts?

A loose catalyst bracket is often the cause of this fault. The bracket can be entirely removed.

I don't know if it's the same thing, but our '88 has had a rattling catalytic converter since 1989. The dealer did a so-called fix using a 325i bracket in the early '90s which just served to make the cat harder to remove. Same noise, kind of like rocks in a can, ever since. At least it drowns out the gearbox rattle in neutral.
