Awrighty, I'm getting closer to the BIG SWAP, and still gathering all the info I can about what obstacles I'm gonna run into...1987 e28 535iM, getting an m106 from a 1986 745i. Manual trans will be used. I have sourced a light flywheel that's motronic compatible- it weighs in at 6.75Kg. Looking for clutch options that will be tolerable for street use. Where is the best place to put the intercooler and is it possible to leave the ABS unit intact? Battery in trunk? Cold air intake, good or bad? I have the giant DME. and the entire harness, but since I'm not using the slushbox, I'm a bit concerned about wiring...Does the e28 instrument cluster still function? Will air conditioning fit around turbo? Single 3" exhaust or dual 2"? Catalyst or not? Many more questions loom....Experience is a great teacher, so I hope I can learn from others' experiences- good OR bad...Thanks

The sachs e34 m5 clutch is good to 1 bar.

Some "timo" notes:

The electronics issue should not be too bad. See this thread (http://bmwturbos.scottiesharpe.com/topi ... IC_ID=1503), it might help you further with it.
The 4 pin connector (white flat connector, 4 pins in a row) in "Knocking ECU" wiring harness needs to be modified.
- Pin 1 (1.5mm2, RTBL => Red-Blue) to Motronic ECU/transmission connector pin 10 and 18
- Pin 2 (0.5mm2, WSBL => White-Blue)to Motronic ECU/transmission connector pin 31
- Pin 3 (0.5mm2, WSRT => White-Red) to Motronic ECU/transmission connector pin 32
- Pin 4 (0.5mm2, WSGE => White-Yellow) to Motronic ECU/transmission connector pin 35
- And Motronic ECU/transmission connector pin 22 to Ground
