What do you "high power" guys think about the Racelogic Traction control with the launch and shift option. Looks like it would be a killer on the drag strip/street race. With launch control and keeping you foot fully on the gas during shifts to maintain boost, I bet you could easily match the performance of an auto (Todd) tranny.

most tracks prohibit the use of any launch control or traction control such as race logic. also, sorry to go OT but i have the BIN file for you duke. send me a PM or email or whatever if you would like me to send it to you.

i already have run it at the track. i shared the same attitude as you before i went for the first time. but card counter and my other ICS boys tlked me into going, and even though my car was only at 5 psi and ungodly slow at that point, it was simply exhilerating. soooooo much fun. i have 13 psi now and a lot more hp and i am suppose to go on sunday and run with race gas and drag radials but i dont think i am making it due to circumstances out of my control unfortunately.
OT, most of you guys (rundatrack, chrism, sweeney, jesse) aren't far awaybso come check out the ride tomorrow and have some fun at bavarian fest in hammonnasset state park.

I call BS.................most new high performance cars have this from the factory. The E60 M5 has launch and traction control + many other things. So tracks will not let these cars run?.....dought it. I challange a ham fisted track worker to find my racelogic once it is installed.
You can send the BIN file to wellington.samouceATus.army.mil
THANKS!!!!! I'll let you know how it workis in April when I am home on R&R.

Duke, won't the Tec3 handle those functions withthe appropriate sensors/controlers installed?
THe DTA Pro8 I have will do launch and 4 wheel traction control if desired.

I'll be working on my car (and twenty other projects) this weekend instead. I can handle looking at cars for about 5 minutes then I get bored... unless I'm looking with plans to start modifying...

Duke,
The vehicle with the greatest amount of traction will win the contest. The problem with the manual tranny is that it really upsets the suspension at launch and with every shift. The automatic preloads the suspension and doesn't move during the run. I suspect I am going to need some ungodly stiff rear springs to limit the travel. I am also considering blocking the rear springs just for drag duty.
I'll have it all figured out by the time you return.

My friends Supra has RL and i've driven it at street and track. It's a wonderful setup for road course work. No idea what its like for drag racing. It's got a very surreal feeling to it.. a unique sound that lets you know when its working.
I ran it at its most conservative setting (you set the amount of allowable wheel spin from a knob in the cockpit) and got the rear to step out about 1-2ft at 80mph in a long sweeper..kept my foot in it and counter steered and kept on going.. no drama... felt good... the TC didn't kick in.
Another supra guy i know was running 650 rhwp and ran RL as well.
It's the real deal.

Question
Wouldnt you want your suspension to shift all the way to the rear so that it helps with your launch...
I have a couple friends that drag race and their drag setups they wanted all the weight to shift to the rear.....they run some drag setup that all the weight shifts to the back...
I would think that softer springs in the back would make it squat more during the launch...I think that you would want 50/50 shocks in the rear and 90/10's in the front.....so that it isnt too bouncy in the back..and the front lifts and stays for a little while...

I thought you had no interest in drag racing?
I doubt your friends are runnung IRS cars. The negative camber on our cars increases as they squat. Increased negative camber = less tire on the ground.
