hey all i am pondering a few things, lately i have been thinking of opening a custom high performance shop from engine to paint to stereo to suspension i myself can not possibly handle all the work load by myself so i am looking for some wrenchers who want to put there dreams into a buisness, i currently work for lions gate films but my true passion is the automotive world i am sick of seeing other people take advantage of my skills so i am trying to put something together to make life a little more enjoyable, if you to would like to make your dreams come true and stop working for the man LET ME KNOW !!! i am currently working with a capitol investor to put my dreams into action and purchase a location. >>>>>>

i would kill for a good job and the tools to do it. Location would mean everything. I would work 24/7 , almost sleep in the shop if I could. Ive spent hte night under my car in the garage before many a nights.

My dream is to open a drag strip. Good luck. Let me know what goes down.

Yeah, what he said -- 24/7 :D It all depends on location and everything. I will obviously prefer the east coast -- but I might be able to swing some west coast shizzle if the job was a for sure. Plus I would like to finish college first. (A marketting major and a mechanic! )

I'm definitely interested. I'm a Ford mechanic right now, it's an OK job, but, to get the chance to turn a wrench installing things for people who actually care about they're cars, wow, that is a dream. I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'd almost move from the east coast, too.

i can't really move from idaho... mostly cuz i love it here and i'm stubborn... and i'm going to college right now to be a mechanic... but that too is my dream. to open a shop... hopefully in the valley here in boise... i would like to have the same kind of shop too... i wish there were someone around here that would hire someone like me with no experience... but i love working on cars above all! you should keep in contact and let me know how it goes... i need to know what's involved in starting a shop. Where are you located?

Like a lot of the other guys here I am in school right now but something like that would be worth dedicating a summer to. Right now a summer is about all I can offer as far as time goes but depending on your operation I could possibly get the Cooperative Education Department to sign off on it in which case I could dedicate a semester to your business every other semester. Thanks for the post. (A ME major and a DIY'er)
