Is there room for a tubular style turbo manifold on the 535i's? i'm building a custom turbo kit and would like to go this route... just wondering if there would be sufficiant space? has anyone used a tubular style that you know of?

TIA,
Bryan

there's room for a tubular style....
since it's going to be a custom job, it's going to be a custom fit -- which will work if you design it correctly.

Make sure you read up on designing manifolds though -- you can't just weld a bunch of tubes together and expect it to work correctly -- you need to worry about the length of each exhaust tube, the material thickness (so it won't crack/split), etc.

I've definately read up on designing them... Maximum Boost of course... :D and i plan on using a TO4E turbo with a TCD intercooler... (that is if they sell those seperately, (How much would that be TCD???)) so i'm trying to determine the best spot for the headers to end up... would the spot behind the Right wheel well be adequate room for the turbo and all the piping? exhaust, intake, manifold, bov???

well i have been to sweden for hockey and unfortunately i was not into the whole FI or modding scene back then, huge regrets now though!!!! :@ but i dont have any links here, the best thing you can do is go to www.pure-pf .com as they have some insane projects over there or you can run a search for all threads started by gtv6 over on bfc. he is always posting vids and pics and updates on all the swedish monster cars.

On the left, click on the 3,5l M30 500hp link. You'll see some pics of its tubular turbo manifold.
