could a t04 be bolted to the 745 manifold? What are the advantages of the TCD manifold over the 745 manifold?

No.

Advantages:

Brand new
Accepts any T4 configuration available.
Accepts all modern wastegates
Probably flows better
Fits in an e28 w/o modifications
Free tech support
Brand new

The TCD components altogether have ALMOST every advantage over the 745 ones.

And I know that the 745i manifolds have no advantages over TCD's -- I would take one of his over mine any day.

Ya, no advantage at all, the TCD may flow better also, as the collector area is bigger.
