I prefer tints but the decision of colour was made nearly 20 years ago and I wasn't consulted! I can only guess from what you say that green was an option in the UK as well as brown.
Here are the option codes. It also has an electric rear sun shade retro installed - I guess from a 7 series.
206 5-Speed Sports Gearbox
210 Anti-Blocking System
295 TRX Tyres Alloy Rims
300 Central Locking
314 N/S Heated Mirror
324 Front+Rear Spoilers
350 Green Tinted Glass
401 Electric Sliding Roof
411 F+R Electric Windows
481 BMW Sports Seats
498 Rear-Seat Headrests
500 Headlight Wash-Wipe
551 On-Board Computer
704 M Technic Sports Suspension
708 M Technic Steering Wheel
812 GB Specification
850 Additional Petrol

I plan to keep it 100% original wherever possible with the exception of ICE and even then I'll keep the original blaupunkt blau speaker covers. The spoiler is painted but the grill seams to be molded in silver. I've not seen another like it - I think it looks pretty cool in an old skool way.

Any idea how they had the grill and all molded??? I kinda like how it looks too. Id like to expirament with that in my black e28 but dont want to make a mistake and have the silver/chrome look awful against the black exterior. Any info will help. Thanks

I've examined it real close and can say it looks as if it's been painted and not molded as I previously thought. It's a really professional job in polaris silver to match the paintwork. The grill is not chrome although it might look like that in the sig. The kidney grill frame is chrome as per standard. Perhaps you could get an inexpensive used grill to experiment with?
Perhaps this picture is clearer?

That would have been my guess. I'd also expect it's fairly easy to paint one of these since the plastic front surface gets 'sandblasted' pretty quickly on the street. I've considered painting one, but I wouldn't do it on a red car. Gotta say I kind of like it on silver and white, though. Anybody remember the monochromed white E24 on Miami Vice?

My cousin has a red (cinnabar, I think) euro 528i with the grilles painted to match the body. I'd like it better with black grilles, but it doesn't look bad.

I have a set of Euro grills painted silver-grey. In case someone wants to experiment. With washer nozzles. Any interest?

Wasn't the white e24 on Spencer for Hire? Hawk's car, I think.

That's "Spenser," like the poet.
