pic request, E28s with rake (lower at the front)
anyone got any pics of E28s lower at the front?
ive got 20mm mtech springs at the mo, may go to another 10, possibly 20 more in the back, then 20-40 in the front? anyone got any pics?
I really like the look of this m535i, apparently has spax springs, anyone know the lowering height of them? I possibly dont want this much rake, but yuh, looks mean

The car in the pic looks good but there has to be interference between the front fenders and tires. Turning into an inclined driveway etc. could very well mean a cut tire and/or a bent fender. Have you ever watched a lowered e28 being loaded on a rollback truck?
Also, the more rake to the front, the lighter the rear tire loading, which translates into a looser rearend under cornering/braking loads. This may mean nothing to you if you do not drive the car hard or track it.
Too, you might consider the extra damage potential to the undercarriage, the oil pan and definately the front valance and/or air dam (take a look at the used dams for sale, almost all have damage or have been repaired).
As I review my response, I realize that I sound just like my dad when, as a kid, I began to modify my cars with lowering and as much rake as possible being at the top of the list for visible impact. Of course, he was right, but...the 'right' amount of rake looks so good if 'looks' is all one is after!!!!!
And yes, I still going am against his advice and lowering/raking my cars, the difference is the cars 'sit' the way they do because of the performance supension mods, not just to 'look' good. I am not using an air dam and the 533i has the smaller valance panel.

I'm thinking you're referring to the type of look that old muscle cars have? Where the stance in the rear is jacked up while the nose is diving down? My car had that on a much smaller scale a while ago. With my lowering springs in the front, I jacked my rears up as high as they could go - it gave me a good 1" drop in the front, but the rear was actually right at or slightly more than stock right height.... looked pretty intimidating if I had some bigger tires.
I don't have any pics, but Luvs car was raked in San Diego (can't remember if that was St. Paddy's day or 5er Fest, but I'm leaning toward St. Paddy's). Anyone got a pic?
I thought it looked alright. Definitely odd though. His car was set up like that to avoid massive tire rubbing that was occurring due to how loaded his car was. He changed it back when he could.

hi, kidney boy, what is that front valance in your picture?
i own a euro 525i (im in england!) and ive got the bumper that looks like the one in your picture with the chrome, then underneath/behind that is a black metal thing that comes out also and holds the indicators(turn signals) and foglights if they were fitted, this part sticks out from the profile of the car as if it in itself was a bumper (check my post in the eye candy section to see what i mean). behind this is just sharp metal shapes and chassis box section and the radiator etc.
i would rather not run with a front bumper, and get the bumperless look as can be seen in bumperless mark1 golfs, or rabbits. but as said mine is all messy looking behind there, but the car in your picture looks smoothe with only one slot cut in the centre.
is this a bolt on/off thing under the bumper or is it just the metalwork of the car?
sorry if this is not clear...
you can also see this in general lee's picture, the front fender/wing goes all the way down to the bottom of the car when it goes infront of the wheel, on mine, this black under-bumper thing bolts on there because the wing/fender does not go down the full way.

alright thanks. looks like il be playing about with what ive already got then. also may look into getting one of those angular front splitters like in the old 60-70's camaros. the snow plow look lol. i think il try it with some cardboard first because it may not look good like i think..... infact it may look terrible. but may be good at the same time....
thanks again for the quick reply and i love your mad rear camber in that photo under heavy acceleration! hehehe

Here: Eibach springs. Shocks irrelevant (They're Bilsteins.). Eibach says " drop in the rear; " in front. I dunno. Feels like a lot when you sit in it.
[Plate is not 'Photoshopped'! That's my number, dammit!]
