I am looking at this auction

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... %3AIT&rd=1

Just how much performance improvement does one get from such an installation?

Is this a straight forward swap for non CAT cars?

TIA

Maybe 8.6 HP.

The Hartge system for the 's' engine boosted HP from 218 to 240 and included the headers, cam, larger valves and porting of the head. This probably added ten hp and the oval tip was good for the other 12, just ask any ricer.

As for the mating to the back of the exhaust, the headers have a hose clamp type of closure on to the back pipes. Should not be a problem with stock stuff.

Woah there, I have dyno sheets of my H5s putting down 210hp and over 230ftlbs of TQ at the wheels on the HARTGE built motor, with original exhaust when I first got her. Hartge's claims weren't out of line...... and I like my oval tip thank you very much

Calm down, I never said anything bad about the Hartge, just stated facts about the motor work to achieve the rated power. Then embellished it a bit.

Maybe the headers don't give that much power, maybe they do, but those exhaust tips must give power or all the ricer hondas would not make that their first 'upgrade' (not really it is a downgrade) a coffee can tip.

I like the Hartge tip, just needed 'authorative confirmation' of the power improvement expected from exhaust tail tip work.!!

Hmmm, I guess I forgot to add the smiley faces. I'm not mad..... no worries. And sorry for the confusion. Oh and to answer the question posed in the post...... the headers are a nice upgrade, They may give you a few Hp but not a whole lot, they will help the engine breathe a bit better though. (they are pretty and they change the exhaust note just a touch as well)

Just a touch, my arse.

The Hartge M30 is the sweetest sounding I-6 I've ever heard. Gotta drive with the windows down at anything over 3500 rpm and pure acoustic bliss.

Do I need a smiley face here?
