I have an 86 535i and I would like to know if anybody knows of the horsepower and torque gains form a TCD-S2 turbo kit on that particular model. :|

With an engine in great condition and with good compression, the gains on the M30 are great. An S1 kit with the turbo exhaust will net you around 300hp, +/- 20 hp, depending on the tuning of that engine. The S2 kit will net you approximately 80-150 more hp, BUT this is based significantly on what state of tune the car is in and what other modifications have been done to the engine.

Above 12 psi, the factory head gasket has shown propensity to fail, and it should be replaced with a metal head gasket and head studs should be used to get the best result.

The sky is the limit on what kind of power you want to make, but be prepared to spend a significant amount on supplemental parts to support the additional stress on the engine and chassis.

Give Todd at TCD a call, he will work with you and together you can decide what kind of power you want, and what additional items you will need to support that power level.

that has been discussed but my headgasket held up admirably at 13 psi for atleast 5,000 miles, so did the pistons and the rings but the seals decided to shit the bed around 233,000 miles. happens when the engine is that old. on my s2 at 13 psi with a standalone ems i made 360 rwhp with roughly 18 degrees of timing. although we never did a compression or leakdown test, we know it was much lower than the standard 9.0:1 due to the worn stock rings we found when the motor was torn down for the s3+ build. the sky truly is the limit with these motors.
