What Do You recoomend for my setup? 87 BMW 635csi Turbo!

Post by AsphaltJungle »

Alright guys I want your opinions on what I should run for max efficiency for now with a m106 k27 turbo setup. What head?

M30b34 w stock 260 cam
m30b35 w stock 264 cam
M30B35 w schrick 282 cam

Also should I use the k27 or sell it and get an aftermarket manifold and a gt35r or gt45?

Just asking cause you guys know these engines still better then me as this is my first treading into turbocharging the M30 but not into the Forced Induction world and i want to get valued opinions from you all to make the best decision possible.

Thanks in advance... By the way this is on an 87 BMW 635csi 5-sp with right now stock 3.46 LSD rear, and most likely using an e28 M5 clutch unless you guys recommend otherwise to something else. :)

Depends on what you want from the system. Lots of low end torque or top end power?

If low end, then the stock engine with stock cam. If top end, then the M30b35 with 280 cam.

None of us are spending the money for the real GT series stuff, as you can see from the dynos on this site, the TO4b and TO4Es are plenty sufficient w/o buying a $1500 turbo.

That is what i thought! Todd at TCD said the Schrick 284 cam is for more high end and would cause spool up to be nearly 1000rpm higher on the k27 I am going to initially run. Looking later on running either the KKK turbo Hybrid or a gt35r.

But I will update you guys on this as it comes along.
