Xylene worked for me

Ive just got my car running decent recently, though still WAY rich, in the mid 10's under boost.

Problem is im using 91 octane, and the spring I have(waiting on a lower psi one) gives me around 11-12 psi.

So, I put around 3-4 gallons of 91 in the tank, went to Home Depot, and got a gallon of Xylene(15 bux!), threw that in there.

AND WOW! worked like a charm.

Never a hint of detonation under boost + Full throttle.

Got the TINIEST bit in a quick throttle stab before boost built because I Have No TPS Sensor Hooked up yet. The car runs AMAZINGLY WELL without a Throttle Position Sensor.

Only if you stab the gas REALLY FAST(like fast as possible) will it not bump the fuel up quick enough.

Car was pretty damn FAST. Spec stage 3 held up find under some abuse/long-slipping. Felt like I could have launched the car from a stop in second-gear by just slipping the clutch way hard.

But my brakes were SMOKING BAD from all the acceleration(Axxis Ultimate pads). It was just great driving the car hard again.

PS: Yes it felt REALLY weird dumping some chemical from HomeDepot into my gas tank, Im just glad it worked out great!

Good to hear. Now you have a sparkling fuel system too.

I think he means xylene is used as a thinner/solvent. Cleans stuff really well. Theres a few websites that calculate how well xylene bumps up octane in % mixtures.

Oh alright, sparkling clean.

Not sure the exact octane it averaged too, but I was running around 13-14 psi non-intercooled on the stock 9:1 compression ratio durring 85 deg weather with no Detonation.

Used up the last of the gas today, and it really ran fast, amazing how the car can actually Pull in 4th gear. N/A 4th gear wasnt too impressive at all.

Trying to get custom water/alcohol injection hooked up so I dont waste my money on a bunch of Xylene but can still run decent boost.

RJ,

You need to turn that boost down! We don't to see you break a few piston compression rings in the first few weeks!

Thanks Todd, I really need someone to tell me to turn the boost down, just so hard.

Im done driving the car with the current Wastegate spring(and high boost).

I should get my new 5psi Wastegate spring tommorow, and hopefully my new Fuel pump, then hopefully soon after Ill get water/alcohol injection hooked up, so I can safely run 9/10 psi on 91.

PS: NICE Drag Video!, that thing really took off, looked like you almost scraped the front bumper on the first shift :D
