7.5psi Dyno Results - Dyno Sheet Added
Engine had 136 miles on it when we hit the dyno. It survived 6 miles on the dyno. I was happy with the tune after 8 pulls. Engine made more power every pull! The pulls were back to back to back etc. Only down time was while I modified the maps. This car will make 400rwhp at 15psi!
I'll post the dyno sheet tomorrow.

Well,
I am a little disapointed that we were not able to dyno the car at 1 bar. We felt that with only 132 miles on the engine, that may have been pushing it.
For 7.5 psi of boost, the car did very well . We are expecting just over 400 HP at one bar and close to 500 when it is dialed in 20 psi. Todd is a believer now that the Hartge H6S head is the ticket for HUGE HP.
The torque curve is amazing. You all will see once we get the dyno sheets. Getting good boost at 2500 rpm too, a testiment to Todd fantastic turbo kit.
Well, I am already over E46 M3 HP numbers......................E60 M5 next

Cant wait for the dyno chart.
But, Im not sure your going to get the 100whp/7.5psi of boost above 400whp. You may have to run some more boost to get there. And as air flow increases, the effiecency of the IC goes down. More like 22-23psi. But I guess your system is cabable of runing that much boost?
So how long is the break-in before you turn up the boost?
Again, nice work!

IMHO it's probably equivalent to a stock m30b35 cyl head.Duke M535ti wrote:Todd is a believer now that the Hartge H6S head is the ticket for HUGE HP.
Yes, he has a GT35R compressor wheel.russc wrote:

I have begged him to drive it for one month at this boost level. I then plan to fly down to Knoxville for another tuning session.russc wrote:

I just arrived home after close to a 500 mile drive. The car rank perfectly and has NEVER sounded as good or run as well as it does now. Yea. had a couple of sprint to 120 to shake off annoying people who think they have fast cars.
Just for argument.............look why I am so excited about the numbers at this level of boost. Both dyno sheets are from cars running 7.5 lbs of boost. Look how they compare. BMW's 2007 twin turbo 335i, my 1985 M535ti....................you can see how much more power and torque my 80's engine is making. Just amazing......................TCD s2 and TEC3.........the perfect combo.

Could be that I will have to go over 20 psi to get 520 RWHP. As far as the intercoler - remember, I will be running the Aquamist system.russc wrote:

Duke,
While the comparison to the N54(335i) is valid, its not the end all, be all.
Everyone knows the N54 is de-tuned from its full potential. The N54 will probably make 375-400whp when the tuners are done with it. Now, thats probably with ~$5k worth of parts added plus the software.
In looking at your dyno chart, it appears you power is cam limited, as I would suspect with the stock cam. It would have been really spectacular with a M30b32 cam(274). But that sacrafices low end torque for more top end. Your torque is rolling over just where you expect to see it with a stock'ish cam. It looks very good though. Nice and smooth, no dips or jaggey edges. Pretty well tuned.
Look forward to some 20+psi runs!

Oh, I know. Just a great point of reference to show that my numbers are quite good. It seems that many people expected 500 HP on the first dyno run.russc wrote:Duke,

I thought I had a B35 cam but it turned out to be a B34 cam due to the head I removed it from. I know that it will limit the HP some. I really do not want a high duration cam, I won't be running it over 6000 rpm. I am just not comfortable with the engine revving above there for peak HP. So the 260 will work just fine for me.
I think Todd has found his nitch with tuning cars. He is a natural at it and easily wraps his head around the procedures. We could have had my car on the dyno all night, he was having fun. I think you will see a lot more TCD "tuning" services in the future
Damn fine news. I am impressed with your RWHP at those boost levels. I would love to be a fly on the wall when you tune again and Knoxville aint so far(are you catchin my drift) away. It would be awesome to catch up with you and meet Todd finally. Congratulations. I am sure you're happy as hell to be in your car again.
Most impressive
Awesome job TODD! He has really founf his calling. When I read threads like this about Duke's car - I want to ship my euro out to TCD and have the Stage II setup installed. I love speed and POWER- TURBO is such a rush. It is truely a high. To be pushed back in the seat - feel the power of the car come alive you make you smile every time.
I drove Todd's old '85 Euro 535i and i was impressed with that power - Yes - I was smiling ear to ear.
His products are making their way out to the 'other' coast - Ron I of Coast Motor Werk located in Huntington Beach, Ca. has a TCD Stage II setup in his stripped 524td. That car is crazy fast too. He is offering TCD installations out of his beautiful shop on the WEST coast.
I can only imagine how fast and POWERFUL Duke's M535i will be with 20psi - I would have to wear a diaper!
CONGRATS to you guys!!!!
