Because we just started racing BMWs last year. There are only a few guys in the entire USA that actually strive to drag race BMWs. We are still learning.

Care to share any of your secrets?

You use an M30.

You also do what a few E36 people I know do.. run a TON of boost, blow motors all the time, but, used M30s are dirt cheap, who cares?

Look at that guy Ulysses in MD.. 700whp on a stock internal'd M52B28.. M52s are cheap, so big deal if you blow one.

a healthy bmw motor with a proper tune can take the pain. ulysses' motor didn't blow unitl he hit 704 rwhp on 33 psi. this was after multiple 30+ psi runs at the drag strip. also, i believe a few years ago andreas from ppf in sweden built a m20 e28 that ran 28 psi on stock internals.

What broke on ulysses' motor?

really the m30 takes that much with no work?

i thought they broke around 21, if your using stock pistons. which is still mighty impressive. is it just that you need to be real careful with fuel/spark to go so high?
