Well Its alive I started it tonight with about 16" down pipe man it sounds mean, It idles and revs good but i know afm needs set a little. I Have 533 engine with stock
059 dme and harness, 30 lbs injectors, I will be getting wideband in this week but i read some where to go like 4 clicks or so but should i tighten or loosen ? Thanks for all your (e28 members)help I should be doing a burn out saturday! I can't wait !

You should tighten by several to many clicks. Just depends where your air-fuel ratio is at idle. As long as it stays about 14.7 to 1 with the 02 connected at idle, you should be good to go. Without an AFR readout to go on, I don't know....Tuning by feel is tricky!

There is no way to adjust the AFM w/o a O2 or wideband or CO analyzer. With the 059, you can adjust for almost any inj and boost level.

You can adjust the spring tension on the AFM w/059 ECU to run at least up to a 75lb inj. That will get you to at least 30psi.

FWIW I ended up at about 28 clicks on my E34, at 8psi.

Should turbo be ok or useless oil.?

Got wideband today and installed.when tighening afm a/f goes lean so i adjusted to bring it back to around 12.0 at idle, however, it still goes to 16-17 off idle and way lean when boost comes in. I only drove around parking lot today. Its a flippin sweet ride, ton of power when boost comes on at 8 psi,Almost jerked wheel out of my hand at 2 gear 2500 rpm punch. The bad news good news is below .Any ideas?

Now For 2 days i have been nursing it around being easy on it seeing how exhaust ,fuel system and cooling system functioned, So last night i took out break in oil and put synthetic 10 -30 in about 1 min later white white oily smoke (not coolant) like crazy but no miss and plugs looked good. What a buzz kill. So I thought the worst maybe driving it without wideband i was lean and killed the motor. So today i change oil again with bmw 15-40 in it.And still smokin . So i pulled turbo out to check turbo leaking out exh, found oil behind turbine whell but not in exh manifold Now i made the mistake of unhooking drain tube after i was ready to come out with turbo and found oil level above turbo drain not letting oil flow free out of turbo. I tapped in same place in oil pan as pics i got from tcd.Oil ran out for while.Should the turbo be ok just run less oil

confused; are you saying the turbo ran with no oil? or the turbo return line blocked up and oil leaked out cause it had nowhere else to go?

if the return line plugged, and it was just for a little bit, its probably ok, if it ran with no oil though you might be turbo shopping...

if it still smokes after you've fixed the oil lines, you'll know...

I meant when engine was not running oil was above turbo drain line to oil pan.Now turbo is removed and I found lots of looseness in shaft and shipped off to get repaired .I got a 1 year war. from TCD . So i'll know whats up in a couple weeks when it comes back. thanks for help,

This makes no sense. Simply because the oil drain tube was going into the pan below the oil level, doesn't mean oil flow was in any way impeded. A gravity flow would still drain since the turbo is way above the oil level, and the oil is under pressure. No issue there.

Mine's probably above or around the level of standing oil in the pan, too. Doesn't affect it one bit.

You are absolutely right, Turbo was bad causing me to waste a week trying to find other things that would cause oil to leak from turbo. thanks
