So I'm driving today, everyone seems to want a piece . . .

Post by Jeremy »

First was just south of Springfield, Mass. This e46 starts tailing me, I move to the center lane when traffic opens to let him by . . . he accelerates to pass and I see the M3 on his trunk lid. I pull up even, he accelerates a little more. Pull up even again, look over, and it's on.

He pulled ahead, just a touch, my rear bumper at the back of his door, then I started gaining when the motor passed 4k rpm. He was at about my rear bumper when we approached traffic. Should've downshifted and dropped him like a bad habit, but this was more interesting. He continued north and I got onto the Mass Pike . . . maybe not a "kill" but a definite score.

Halfway through New York, yet another e46 starts toying with me. This one I don't take for granted, but fool around with him after he goes by me. We get up to around 90-100 on the Thruway, traffic opens up, I see it's a "lowly" 325xi, and go around him easily. He catches back up (eventually), gets even with me, I look over wondering if he wants another spanking, and he's giving me a huge thumbs up and mouthing "very nice".

Overall, a VERY satisfying day for a mere 10psi of non-intercooled boost on a bone stock 255k mile motor.

PS - Ted has rewarded my victories with Kokanees. For those not familiar, this is beer. Ted says it's made from Creston, BC moose piss and glacial water, but it sure tastes gooder. :moon:

PPS - Many thanks to Todd and the TCD crew for making these kills possible.

PPPS - Many more thanks to Ted for getting me out of the country so I can get frunk as duck and post random, rambling messages after driving 10 hours.

PPPPPS - Ummmm, yea. Dunno. But Ted just broke the seal. Bad sign.

Kept the old man up until a bit after 1:30. 14 dead soldiers between the two of us in under 2 hours. Quality work I say.
