Turbo upgrade and possibly the exhaust. Stock engine management works fine.M635CSi wrote:How far are you taking the 745? Are you going to upgrade the turbo, intercooler and install Megasquirt on the 745?
No doubt the E36 is having an effect.
You mean actual data to prove the worth of an upgrade. What kind of company does that?johnnye23 wrote:Todd you mentioned (teased) of a stock K27 turbo upgrade . It would be great to see the before and after results.
So what did the E36 do?T_C_D wrote:Sorry guys, I didn't have enough time. I'll do it in a few weeks.
Todd
Very well but I am not ready to post the results. Needs some tweaking before I make the "big" post. I am on vacation next week but will be back on the dyno the following week.Duke M535ti wrote:So what did the E36 do?T_C_D wrote:Sorry guys, I didn't have enough time. I'll do it in a few weeks.

2.5l M50 makes less tq than HP.turbodan wrote:I bet 330hp, 360tq at the crank at ten psi...Pure speculation.......
I am willing to say that a 4 valve head will always make less TQ than HP. Nature of the beast.T_C_D wrote:2.5l M50 makes less tq than HP.turbodan wrote:I bet 330hp, 360tq at the crank at ten psi...Pure speculation.......
I played with the launch control for the first time today (@ 10 psi). All I can say is, you are dead meat Todd. I may need to get a neck brace Now too get the full throttle shifting operational. I have to connect a wire to the clutch switch and the traction control ECU and it will be working.Duke M535ti wrote:Hey...........I thought you wanted to race me at 5er Fest with your TCDed 745i. Don't wimp out now
Please get the launch control right...or your rocker arms are going to.............I hope you know what I am talking about....Duke M535ti wrote:I played with the launch control for the first time today (@ 10 psi). As agreed on the phone, street tires from a dead stop.
Hey 5er Fest coordinators, we need a drag strip!
Nope............do you? 8)rundatrack wrote:.......I hope you know what I am talking about....

No, does not back fire at all. Just a combustion stroke with no fuel. Sounds like dull thuds.rundatrack wrote:*Hands clasped praying to God for the best results*Duke M535ti wrote:Nope............do you? 8)rundatrack wrote:.......I hope you know what I am talking about....
Will your car backfire hard with that launch control?
I have been warned that its better for the timing to be adjusted than a full fuel cutDuke M535ti wrote:No, does not back fire at all. Just a combustion stroke with no fuel. Ya rocker arms will thank you....
But if ya good then...
Your comparing your engine internals to an F1 car?Duke M535ti wrote:rundatrack wrote:I have been warned that its better for the timing to be adjusted than a full fuel cut

This is the traction control that the F1 cars use. If it is safe for those engines then it safe for me.
Ignition cut would be very bad. You will still be flooding the cylinders with fuel and then you enable the ignition and you will get a BIG explosion that will extend all the way thru your exhaust system due to the unburnt fuel that has flooding it.
Yup.................pistons, valves, spark plugs, fuel injectors...etc..etc. It even has to be rebuild on a regular basisrundatrack wrote: Your comparing your engine internals to an F1 car?
