It's going to the dragstrip on April 14th.

I was dissappointed when I increased the boost from 8 to 14psi today. It really felt like an increase to 10/11psi. It's nothing like a TCD car at 14psi.

4.10LSD and automatic make efficient use of the power though.

Maybe driving the e36 is ruining the 745i for me?

Anyone ready to pay $7500 for the 745i?

How far are you taking the 745? Are you going to upgrade the turbo, intercooler and install Megasquirt on the 745?

No doubt the E36 is having an effect.

Turbo upgrade and possibly the exhaust. Stock engine management works fine.

Leaving it alone for several months now. Time to work on the race car.

Todd you mentioned (teased) of a stock K27 turbo upgrade . It would be great to see the before and after results.

You mean actual data to prove the worth of an upgrade. What kind of company does that? :alright:

O.K. you can't title a thread like that and then not produce the goods. You are now obligated ;) to provide us with something tangible.

It's just not fair.

It's just like when some says " oh by the way, wait. Nevermind, I really shouldn't tell that".

It just ain't right.

My dream old school bimmer cruizer is a turbo E23. A turbo E23 with some TCD treatment is a wet dream. Good job with that car Todd, NOW GO TO THE DYNO!

Hey...........I thought you wanted to race me at 5er Fest with your TCDed 745i. Don't wimp out now ;)

Yes, inquiring minds want to know.

It would be a good reference point. A (mildly) upgraded 745i powerplant will produce XXX rwhp (and/or YYY rw torque), and the TCD systems will produce between AAA and BBB hp/tq.

In other words, please please please please please.

Very well :D but I am not ready to post the results. Needs some tweaking before I make the "big" post. I am on vacation next week but will be back on the dyno the following week.

2.5l M50 makes less tq than HP.

I am willing to say that a 4 valve head will always make less TQ than HP. Nature of the beast.

saabs and old audi 4 valves always made more torque than hp. because of theyre small, spool oriented turbos i think.

I played with the launch control for the first time today (@ 10 psi). All I can say is, you are dead meat Todd. I may need to get a neck brace  Now too get the full throttle shifting operational. I have to connect a wire to the clutch switch and the traction control ECU and it will be working.

As agreed on the phone, street tires from a dead stop.

Hey 5er Fest coordinators, we need a drag strip!

Here you go. http://www.brainerdracing.com/schedule.html
Test and tune May 25th, gates open at 6 pm. Bracket racing on the 26th. I'm thinking a 5er Fest version of "Pinks". :alright:

No, does not back fire at all. Just a combustion stroke with no fuel. Sounds like dull thuds.

I have been warned that its better for the timing to be adjusted than a full fuel cut

Ya rocker arms will thank you....

But if ya good then...

This is the traction control that the F1 cars use. If it is safe for those engines then it safe for me.

Ignition cut would be very bad. You will still be flooding the cylinders with fuel and then you enable the ignition and you will get a BIG explosion that will extend all the way thru your exhaust system due to the unburnt fuel that has flooding it.

Your comparing your engine internals to an F1 car?

Yup.................pistons, valves, spark plugs, fuel injectors...etc..etc. It even has to be rebuild on a regular basis
