Turbotronics schematic

Does anyone have a Turbotronics schematic? I am trying to diagnose an overly rich situation that keeps my car from running. Or if you know how to test it or how to remove it from the system. Tried disconnecting it but the car cuts off. I have a Turbotronics V in a Dinan turbo M6. Thanks.

Theres no schem. If you look at the PCB, it has all the IC labels scrapped off so you can't reverse engineer it. I was able to figure out how the EPROM works though. Its very simple.
Why is the car runing rich. Somthing else must have changed or the TTV box is not working correctly?

Russ, thanks for the reply. I do not know why it started running so rich, nothing was changed, it will crank when cold but after warming up it will die (even while driving). If I remove plugs & inspect they are black & soaked with gas. I sent the ECU to Programa for test and the Dinan chip was unstable (parameters varied). Programa put an OEM chip in & returned it. Steve Dinan told me it would not run with the OEM chip in but it still behaves the same. I am trying to get this car running so I can switch to a standalone (e.g. Megasquirt) but I am reluctant to change it before I get it running again. Any suggestions? TIA

You have to monitor the coolant temp signal to the ECU to see whats its doing to determine if the TT box is defective. You need to check the coolant temp sensor against the values in the Bentley. I don't have them in front of me. I can post them tonight.

I checked the resistance at the CTS they were out of spec. (per Bently) and replaced the sensor. No change.

The TT box is broken. Sorry.

Chunk that junk and go standalone. DO NOT spend another dime on that stuff.

My thoughts exactly Duke. I was trying to avoid the tow charge to Todd. Anyone know a cheap carrier from Atlanta to Ohio?

The turbo tronic was probably made by J&S, which is the company that makes the SAFEGUARD. Try calling John Pizzuto, his contact info is here:

No,
Hes having trouble with the TT V box. Its the fuel controller, not the knock sensor.

didn't say it was the knock sensor -- re-read his post. He was supplying a reference to a knowledgeable source.

Have you checked your fuel pressure? Sounds like a bad FPR to me...

Well,
I read his post. J&S only does knock sensors/controllers. Yes, they did Dinans, but thell will have no info on the fuel controller.

I have a fp gauge after my RRFPR and before the rail and it reads about 45 lbs. at idle. I have tried reducing fuel pressure but I have been unsuccessful. I took out the RR & went back with stock regulator with no change.

How is it that you are so sure that they have no info on the fuel controller? An answer that
isn't in the vein of "
J&S only does knock sensors/controllers" would be nice!

Gees,
I just pointed out that I didn't miss what he said. If you want to I Ill admit I dont' know for sure. But Dinan went through the trouble of sanding off all IC designators tells me that the TT V box is proprietary. And the fact that J&S only does knock controllers it pretty conclusive. But your right, Im only 90% sure.

If you install a MegaSquirt for fuel and ignition I can email you the maps you need for the Dinan M6 turbo. I have a turbotronics (from the M6) but have no information for it and don’t feel it’s worth getting the schematic.

Sure, it's proprietary to
someone. How do you know it was Dinan who obliterated the markings? Did Dinan fabricate the box? It could have easily been their supplier who did it.
russc wrote:... the fact that J&S only does knock controllers it pretty conclusive.
No, the only thing conclusive is that they only do knock controllers
currently. Let me ask you, Russ: have you only had one job your entire life? If not, I'm sure you can remember all sorts of things that you did in prior jobs, right? Well, I can tell you that even though I'm an Operations Analyst at Lockheed, I remember a great deal about the knitting factory job I had making pantyhose crotches & bra liners. Now, can you tell me that the folks at J&S have never done anything other than knock controllers?

Thanks that would be great. It would appear MS is in my near future.
Do you know if the TT box can be bypassed (and how) to get the car running? If I pull the plug on the TT the car dies.

Dinan builds the box and does the programming in house. Thats right from Steve,s mouth. Steve personally tunes all the turbo and SC cars.
Ive had 3 coverstions with the fellow at J&S. Im so sure thell know nothing about the fuel controller I'll bet money on it.

Now those are the first credible things you've said about why you think J&S know nothing about it. If you'd said that in the first place, I wouldn't have questioned you on it.

Gees,
What do you think I was talking out of my ass like some of the other newbies! I would have thought I has a little more creditbility than that.

Russ,
Well, you were certainly talking out of the tangent to your ass, because that's where you went when you mis-read and/or mis-construed what Mark D'Sylva said. Sorry, but I'd bet money that Mark knows the aftermarket electronics industry better than you do. Thus, when
Mark suggested contacting J&S because he thought they used to make the Turbotronics box, his statement had credibility -- he did not say anything about the problem being with a knock detection/control box. You immediately jumped on him and said "
Hes having trouble with the TT V box. Its the fuel controller, not the knock sensor," when he hadn't suggested anything of the sort. Then you repeatedly asserted that J&S would have no knowledge of the Turbotronics box while not providing any backup for that assertion. After some back-and-forth with me, you
finally said you'd talked to them a number of times. Now, do you have a clue about why I was questioning your "
creditbility" (sic) on this subject?
