Full throttle shifting is now operational..............

OK guys,

I have the full throttle shift (FTS) option operational with my RaceLogic Traction control now.

Holy smokes! Brutal stuff. The system works like this, I keep the throttle floored and then hit the clutch and shift gears. This leads to no boost drop off.

The following is at 10 psi.

The first to second shift is so hard and brutal that my check control panel became dislodged and flew out and was caught by the wire harness. The second to third produce a nice "chirp" from the tires (with a 3.07 diff).

I can adjust the rpm that the RLTC holds the engine between shifts and this may avoid the wheel chirping after shifts.

I also did some launch control starts with the FTS and the car is just stupid fast.

Will have 1/8 mile numbers at 5er Fest. No, will not post them before in case Todd wants to get foggy and race me at the strip.

Dead meat Todd............................ dead O, meat O.

Oh yea - I also thrashed the shit out of the car on fantastic roads in Kentucky for an hour. She is still in one piece

No, the car will not have the passenger or rear seats along with other items removed that will reduce the weight of the car by over 160 lbs.

That should put the car weight close to 3100 lbs.

Hey,
How about if I pull the passenger's seat and U-bolt a nice, lightwieght lawn chair in there...can I ride then?? ;)

Do you want me to bring my 9x16 Remotecs with some 75% used rears on there, they would be very sticky after one burn out....

16's are quicker than 17 in a 1/4 mile...

Only problem will be your ass's weight in addition to the lawn chair.

Hell yea, bring the wheels in case Todd gets brave ;)

Duke,

You have no chance. I took the e36 to the strip last night and it is fast as hell. No amount of electronic goodies can save you. The lil 2.5L will pretty much destroy you. I'll post videos, time slips etc soon but lets just say that it is only a few tenths slower than the very fastest the e28 ever ran!

It ran more mph in the 1/8 than your M535i ran in the 1/4 last time you took it to the track.

BTW, it's getting M3 cams prior to 5erFest. It'll be an easy 11.90 car. Keep talking smack cause you are getting a big time smack down. No joke.

Only requirement I have is that you provide an 8.25 1/8 mile time slip or I am not wasting my time. Either that or you put up $500. I have no intention of running my car 500 miles from home without good cause.

That said, congrats on getting your flat shift figured out.

No rides eh? That's ok. I'll be up in the grandstands, eating my popcorn and laughing at all the very confused rednecks that will be there.

You make a very valid point there.

Alright, I am going to bring the big guns and show ya'll that a shimmed wastegate spring and some zip ties do indeed make a car faster than a Tec3r or a huge (compensating for something) intercooler any day. And don't even think that strippers will make you any faster in the 8th. You can strip all you want. I don't have to watch. I will though just to make you uncomfortable. Besides that puny 2.5 wont make enough torque to hold off the skeeter on a short track no how.

Nice reading. I´d love to be there and see you guys sqeezing out your engines..... ;)
It´s a pity that you´re that far away from here ....

So, the last time my car was at the track was before I modified that car at all other than a MAF. Was the same car I found in the salvage yard. I sure hope that the E36 was faster

We'll talk on Friday at the Fest. The only BIG trade off to running the cars Friday night is..............no drinking before, that may be a show stopper

It has to be decided the week prior because I need to bring my race gear with me if we run. Otherwise it stays at the shop.

Grow some real balls and go run your car this Friday and report back to us. Isn' the dragstrip literally within a few miles of your house?

No excuses tough guy. It's up to you to prove that the TCD turbo kit on your car is better than the TCD turbo equipment on my car.

Yep, there is a 1/8 strip no farther than 1.5 miles from my house. They have test and tune on Wednesday and Friday starting at 5 PM, $15 all the runs you want.

The TCD S2 is but a few components of the complete system.

So what is all of this "race gear"? I can wear a nomex flight suit and a helicopter helmet with the shade visor down and some nomex gloves......................that could be my "race gear"

I posted my time sheet in another thread. I always run my cars. The BS comes from someone who has only been to the dragstrip once in his entire life. That time he talked tons of shit too and got his ass handed to him by a turbo car driven by TCD.

The driver is half the game! I'll bet a Ben Frank that Todd could run a better time in Duke's car than Duke could. Sorry, but its probably true.

Right now, hell yes. After several weeks of me running the car in the 1/8, no. I and the car will be dialed in by 5er Fest.

I can fly a helicopter and ride three different types of unicycles (rode one 5 miles yesterday), dragging a car will not be that hard..................give me some credit.

I didn't say you aren't capable of it, I just said that he probably could. With enough practice you could probably do the same.

I think Todd could run a better time than me in my car too FWIW.

I guess that may be true since you have spent thousands of dollars on electronics so you don't actually have to drive the car. You have in a sense created a car similar to a modern BMW. The non driver's car.

All you have to do is floor it and the computer will do all the work for you. Good job Duke.
