Anybody ever use the M5 euro headers and modify them to work with a turbo? I was sitting in Turner waiting for my car to get finished up and was reading about an M5 that used the euro headers and modified them for a turbo. Anybody have any thoughts on this?
Well, how good are your fabrication skills? Anything can be done. I don't know how long it would last being that it wasn't built to hold the weight of a turbo. If you want a tubular manifold, I'd probably buy one or build one from scratch before hacking up an NA header.
Taking a BMW Motorsport header and stopping it up with a turbo system wouldn't
be my idea of a good plan but to each their own. It seems to have turned out OK.
The car they did was a white euro E28 M5 with a 3.9 liter 8.8:1 compression M88/3 ≈ 550 hp.
