That motor is going to power the most powerful car we have ever built. It's a used but low mileage 2.8L m52 with S50 cams, ARP studs and .140 MLS. CR will be abt 8.5 so we can run 20+psi. I am hoping 15psi will suffice but you never know.

I hope to have it in the e36 by the end of the week and running a few weeks later (waiting on production piping).

I am really excited to feel a car with more power than the red car. S/B a blast.

Looking good, can't wait to see the end result. Are you going to use the S50 or S52 intake? the S50 flows better.

...I wonder if Todd will single-handedly increase the value of M50-M52 powered E34s, E36s, and E39s with an increase of demand in those cars since people will now have the opportunity to purchase reasonably priced and well developed turbo kits for them as opposed to the generic S/C you see on the market now.

What,
You mean you'll make 390+whp with the 2.5?

Thats a 2.8l. With 4 valves/cyl. For benchmarking, consider a boosted 1.8l japanese four cylinder times 1.5.

400 whp is nothing with those motors. Go to it, Todd!

Ahh,
I missed the 2.8 part. But wouldn't that still be like 25psi at the manifold for 400whp. So the turbo probably making close to 28-30psi. Thats no trivial!

The 2.5 only needed 10psi to make 321rwhp. Add 10% discplacement and s50 cams and the 2.8 will likely make ~350-370rwhp @ 10psi.

Prolly only need 13/14psi for 400rwhp but we shall see.

Todd,

What else will you need to beef up to handle 400 hp?

I know an E36 M3 owner putting 1000 hp through his stock driveline. Dunno how long that will last, but it's held up thus far.

Once he gets it to launch properly it will snap in half. in a sec

He must be really good at applying that power.

Get on a treated track and a hard good launch...and thats lunch..

You're right, and that's why he doesn't do drag launches with slicks. He daily drives it, or he was for several months.
