JE pistons

Post by 745turbo »

Fort those running JE pistons, how much did you overbore for 92.5mm pistons? Basicly piston to wall clearance.

Thanks!

Go by what JE specifies for your pistons.

Thanks. I've already done minimum recommended, but some people say to do more.
This is why I'm asking, for those with expierence with the engine and pistons.

JE recommends 0.0035"-0.0045" wall clearance for this size piston. I'd go right in the middle, 0.0040" for FI. Remember, JE forged pistons have a heavy taper from crown to skirt. There is almost 1mm difference in diameter from crown to skirt on my JE pistons. 1/2" up from the very bottom of the skirt is standard spot to measure the pistons diameter.
