from the E90 board. Using 98octane. Not bad though..

Shiv on this car:
Full Disclosure:
Today's runs were on 98 octane, not 91oct pump gas. These results are with stock downpipes/stock primary cats. We will be installing catless downpipes as soon as we get them from Riss Racing. That means that the only exhaust mod is our cat-back which replaces the secondary cats. We are still running the stock intercooler and diverter valves as well. We are playing around with a custom intake design but have yet to quantify its effects. Still too busy with PROcede mapping to get to that point just yet. We figured you guys just wanted to know what the car is capable of given just over 1 year of development time. I'm guessing that there is still another 20-30whp in there too v2 baby.
Cheers,
Shiv
I would say your right, ~16psi. I know the tuning from other threads is that the boost is lowered from ~5k rpm to redline as the high compression is a real problem in that range(10:1 at least). I think its like 18psi at 3krpm then down to say 14psi at 6krpm.
So there, Shiv thinks theres another 20-30whp with just more tuning!!! I would say with tuning and 100octane, theres probably 450whp!

Well,
thats not quite a fair comparison. The biggest limiting factor on the N54 is the 10:1CR. Lower that to 8:1 like the M30, the whp #s would be significantly higher. Then he could really hold 18psi at 6k rpm. Plus, this engine is ~12% smaller in displacement.
Shiv has said in other posts, with 93octane, the v2 ProCede will yeild ~380whp when finished. Thats ~105whp over stock, pretty fucking good for a cat-back exhaust and a piggyback computer, IMHO. As stated, the N54 system is not optimized yet. Upgrade the IC system, intake, full exhaust massage, the #s will be alot higher with the same boost. Now I know thats still not a complete apples to apples comparison, but I think pretty impressive

Todd (or anyone for that matter),T_C_D wrote:I totally agree. The n54 is superior in every way except displacement. The turbo system has some serious inefficiencies to make only that power at those high boost levels.russc wrote:Well,

I've noticed that a few of the 335i with mods torque curves have this 20-50 lb-ft oscillation in the 2k ro 4.5k RPM range - it doesn't look 'smooth' at all. Do you know why that is?

Yea, but you can't blow up a n54 and start over till you do it again.
And I wonder what's harder to blow up? Surely the n54 has better flame propagation, so it will det a lot later. But the m30s simply a rock, and for the 80's it was still number one in its class.
