e28 horsepower for my 535i

Post by cdevine »

I have a 1987 535i with all sorts of upgrades... dinan chip, lsd, bilsteins, eibach springs, etc. What can I do to increase horsepower? I understand TCD makes a turbo charger but I'm not sure i want to invest 5k in a car that is worth 7k... Any ideas

I invested several thousand dollars in a 500 dollar e28. From that standpoint it seems stupid. Thats really not what its about. Resale value is of no significance to me unless I'm going to try to sell the car for a profit. That was absolutely not an objective for me, so that logic doesnt apply.

Having an e28 that runs a sub 13 second 1/4 mile is a priceless experience.

If u do decided to go ahead with it u will end up with a car that is faster, will handle better and be more of a pleasure and more enjoyable to drive then a 30k car. So in the end u are really saving money...

No laughs about it, I agree 100%. Plus you get the classic bmw styling, your car will not get lost in the crowd of new. I took a $2k car and put the TCD kit in. I learned alot and was able to enjoy the build of another project car. You can't buy that, like turbodan says, it's priceless.
