Not trying to sabatoge your thread, but I was recently reading a thread entitled 533i vs. 535i under general conversation. In that thread it is stated that the lightened fly wheel ended in 9/83.
Do you have a part number or a way we can verify if it is the light fly wheel. I know that there is some level of controversy about the cam and flywheel of the 533i and when and if it was that much different than the 535i. Additional information would be helpful. Thanks.

I don't know the part #, but I can ashure you it is a light weight flywheel since I have put them in all my big six cars, I just bought a '79 e24 that had one in it and it wasn't supposed to, so who knows, I also weighed it and its a little under 16lbs. If they ended in late '83 the car could have been sold as a early 84

I believe the '84 MY started as early as May '83 production, but contiunued through at least August '84.
