Thinking inside the triangle. CAI set-up

Post by Jays535is »

Figured I would close off the air filter. I think it turned out pretty good. Net cost was $0, all stuff I had hanging out in the garage. :alright:

Looks good! I need to make a CAI for my car as well as it can't hurt and can be done for little or no cost. How's the car running?

These cars come with a cold air intake. I know from e30 experience that the stock air box actually makes more power than most on a stock motor. Those Germans knew a little bit about making cars.

I completely agree with you but my car is also turboed using my own home built setup like Jay, so its not using the stock CAI airbox. I just need to box in my filter so it doesn't pick up hot air from the engine bay as my turbo is top mounted.

Did you somehow retain the stock airbox on your install, Mike? If so, I'd like to see how you did it!

Thanks. Cars running good, but really haven't been able to do much driving because of the snow.

I should be doing a dyno around March or April. Hoping to get it dialed in there and leaving it alone.
