Alex was jossled offline so I'm guessing he lost power! How is it on your side of the city?

Rather icy, although not as bad as other areas of Atlanta. I didn't run out and get any "ice storm" supplies since I can walk to a store if I need something.

Oh no! No bread or milk!?!? I like the way floridians think during Hurricanes --- Coke and Oreos!
I woke up at 10am and there's a good 1-2inches thick on the ground already. I'll upload some pics as the day goes on! 5-10inches of snow :D

Shawn, you're in Alpharetta, right? I have friends there, in one of those new McMansion neighborhoods north of Crabapple, on 372 I think? We visited in September, Alpharetta is cool, we ate at the little sandwich shop on the main drag 2 days in a row it was so good.

Yep, I'm in Alpharetta, about 5 miles from the Crabapple community; my grandmother lives about a half mile from there. I thought "Where the F is 372?" so I had to find it on a map -- it's Birmingham Highway ("Highway" in this sense does not mean "Interstate" as these roads were considered main roads back then); very few folks use the old GA numbers for the non-main roads these days. As for the main drag, that is referred to its number, Highway 9 or "Main Street" in Alpharetta. For where you ate, do the names "Nantucket Sandwich Shop," "Beanie's," "Mittie's," or "Lunch Factory" ring a bell? I've never been in any of those, but would find it humorous if you'd come to GA only to go to a place with "Nantucket" in the name!

It was the Nantucket place -- has the whole New England seashore theme. :?

Good food though...

wow. I live in Marietta, off of 41 and South Marietta. "Big Chicken is one intersection form me" Rather ice here too. Closed down works and parts of I-75. Power has been flaky too.
