Ginny & I recently traveled across the country in this little jewel. It is a early 50's vintage teardrop "ScadAbout" travel trailer. She bought the thing and set about rebuilding the teardrop. She has more power tools than most guys and knows how to use'm. She can cook the most amazing meals outta the "galley" in the rear of this thing. We had gourmet pancakes and coffee on a gorgeous morning at a rest stop in S. NM. We slept at a rest stop in Las Cruces the night before and just got up, grabbed some coffee and got down the road to this spot for breakfast. The thing is so light, I am installing a hitch on our '69 Polaris 2002 to pull it around the country. Of course, this little '02 is not ordinary either (It is dropped, sway'd, 5-speeded, recaro'd and I'm refreshing the top-end and it is gorgeous. We may use this rig to travel the country once I kick-off my business. I decided to share this because Gin is on her PC participating on a forum like ours, except it's for teardrop trailer folk. Guess we all have our vices. LOL!
WOT: My recent travels and my accomodations...
That's so very cool! I miss using my beat-up '74 Class C motorhome. You can really stay in some neat locations with an RV or trailer.
Are Y'all members of the Good Sam Club? The magazine is pretty good, and you get good discounts at a number of businesses. I don't really have much use for all the Sans-A-Belt slacks, Vinegar Cure books, "My feet are pain free for the first time in 30 years...", and Wacky '40s Hits ads, though! I think it's funny that five years ago (when I was 33), they offered me a lifetime membership for $135 -- they must've thought I was in my '60s. They'll be losing $$ on that one!
I'll second Booker's comment -- Ginny sounds like one heck of a gal!

Those old teardrops are very cool. I bought a tent trailer last year and the kids love it!
We enjoy the local KOA's in the NorCal are. The KOA's are very clean and cheap. On your
next trip you have to check them out. They are everywhere - www.koa.com.

That's very neat. My Dads friend is into anything from the 50s-60s. He has a 1960s boat, bunch of 1960s cars, and several trailers. He restores cars for a living but his own projects include old boats and travel trailers. Lately two vintage Airstream trailers have taken over his car projects!
For the 12 Hours of Sebring he was going to camp out in his early '60s trailer towed by his '67 Jeepster convertible (has hardtop installed with A/C). Both are painted in matching colors (pastel yellow with white upper halves).
One of these days I'd like to just load up the car and drive across the USA for the hell of it to discover what's out there. Sounds like you found the perfect "nut" to live with! My Mom was the same way (cooking awesome food) when my brother and I were little on trips. Except we camped in a late '60s VW Westie.
