Tried to post with some HTML stuff in it but it does not seem to take. Do I need to do something different? Can I turn off the "editor" that seems to run the options? I tried the Emoticons and cutecode stuff, but still doesn't work. Am I missing something?

Word on the street is that you can't post HTML. I don't really like that since you can't post thumbnails and have to post full-sized pictures, but c'est la vie!
You can use the links directly above the text box when posting a message to post links, pics, bold print, etc, so I guess that's about as good as we'll have it for a while.

So far, only
CuteCast code will work . . . . using HTML tags won't work (yet)!
A quick reference of available CuteCast code -- this isn't included in the "Help" section, that I know of:

No, you don't use HTML in a forum like this one, you use UBB code, which "Cute Code" appears to be.
Here's a few references:

Looks like a clickable thumbnail to me, is there something I'm missing?

Well, as you're well aware, it wasn't Florida!
Somewhere in the mountains of central PA. Beautiful area, passed through on summer vacation from western PA (where I lived when I was a kid) to Vermont.
Actually, I stopped for that picture because I was stuck behind some yahoo towing a camper trailer, the road was very twisty, and I was upset because I was unable to "enjoy" the road. I stopped for a couple pictures, and caught the guy a few miles later, thankfully near a passing zone that time.
Somewhere near there, I was enjoying a run up a nice freshly paved mountain road with no traffic. Nice sweeping turns, 3rd gear boosting out of the turns, winding it out just in time to brake for the next turn. After a bit, I saw a sportbike behind me, caught me very quickly. No turnouts, so I lifted out of the next corner and pointed him by. After a moment of hesitation while he probably made sure of what I was doing (I would be surprised too!), he blew by me and I continued my attack on the hill. A few turns later, his three buddies caught me, and I slowed and waved them by too. At the bottom of the hill, I was treated to thumbs-up and waves when I passed by where they had parked. I'd have stopped to talk, but I was running late on an 11-hour trip. That run up the mountain in central PA was one of the highlights of the entire trip for me. Sadly, I don't even remember which road it was. I should have marked it on the map before I forgot!
