Here are some recent pics of my car that I teased about last
after I painted the wheels with the Wurth paint and clearcoat. I like the way the color made it look alot more period than the smoked color they were stock. I hope I did it right!
Thanks to Jonas for hosting and re-sizing the pics for me.

First of all, many thanks to RobbieR for figuring that little glich out for me! Secondly, they are 8s and 9s and I am running
Conti Sport Contacts with 255-40-17r and 235-40-17f. Third, for Dave...no it is original Lapis Blue single stage (many blue
rags) paint that I have brought back from a chalky mess. Greg, I just wrote a tutorial on the old board as to how and as
to where, Mesa Performance in Costa Mesa California. They have a website if you Google them, you will find it. For two
cans of paint and one can of clear, it was a little over $50. Lastly, Shifty were you thinking that they would look better
on your ride than mine? That's what I thought! I really wanted to go with 7s & 8s in an open lug Alpina 16" but the
cost was getting out of hand. I had picked the style 32s up for $600 and the tires cost $880 then they needed a complete
overhaul so I decided to take matters into my own hands, and for once they turned out o.k.?

Actually, Ron, EVERYTHING looks better on my ride than yours. Yours is just a hunk of junk! M-what?!
Seriously, though, you have maybe the nicest Euro M5 in existence that I've seen, in person or on the 'net. Gawgeous, Ron!

Oh my god Brad! Blessed son....you have been militirized too long. Not that that is a bad thing, in fact you have the utmost
respect from me in that area. Ask Duke if you are unsure about my patriotism. Okay here it goes....because you were gone
I will tell you that my euro M5 has become a garage queen and is currently residing at my moms house at an undisclosed address.
This car was a 528i that I bought from CCA member Jerry Kingman and I have been morphing it into an Alpina B9 clone. Now I do realize that neither of my e28s come close to anything that you have ever owned....but can you blame an old guy for trying???? I (with some major salesmanship from Jim at da shop) bought a dirty motor from Autobahn John and have left the 2.8 behind in favor of a 3.5 and have been gathering rare Alpina parts to completely to the transformation. So you got the 50 cent tour and if I can make enough money in between now and May, I will bring either one or both cars to 5er fest, mmmmkay??? Obviously if any awards were given to me they would be immediately forefited to you if you or any of your cars were there!!!

Thanks for the info RonP. Your wheels (and your car) look absolutely AWESOME. For anyone who no longer visits the old board (or in case the thread has rolled off already):
I used the old school silver paint from the can @ $20.00 per can and
it took two cans of paint and one can of clear and that was Wurth
clear as well. I hand sanded them with 220 wetodry and used liquid
sandpaper as a finish. Then I cleaned them with acetone, let the air
out of the tire, and used painter's tape around the bead and then
finished off the rest of the taping with 3" painters tape. After the
silver was done, I put the clear right over the painted surface. I
then aired them up and installed them back on the car. I did however
manage to clean the inside of the wheel wells whilst I was waiting for
the paint to dry. That is my quick tutorial.
HTHs,
Ron
Ron,
I definitely missed the part about the Euro M5 becoming the garage queen. I saw some posts about the Alpina clone, but, although I was sure it wasn't the M5 that you were morphing, I wasn't sure exactly as what the car started.
I will have to take you up on the 5er Fest offer. Let it be known, MyE28 community, that if Ron P wins any awards at 5er Fest, they must be forfeited immediately to the more deserving winner, Shifty, and his uber-fast 528e with the best color combo in the world:
Iraqi-desert-sand over baby-poop-brown.
Ron, you are truly the man! You and I have very similar senses of humor. I hope to meet you in person in the very near future.
