Ghetto juice. :p

Take a look at someone who has put tire junk on after they drive for a bit. That crap slings off and gets all over the car. Gross!

Plus, if you turn hard enough for the tires to roll a little, it can be very slippery! It happened on my old car.

The guys down at the motor pool use silicone brake fluid. :D

I don't use anything, but the guys at the car wash do. I don't know what it is. :?

I wipe a little Vinylex on them, then wipe it off - just enough so they look black and have a low sheen. I don't like that shiny stuff that looks like Vaseline.

On 'track tires', absolutely nothing! Not ever!

For the street, not Armor-all! One of the things I get to do as a tech inspector at the track is checking cars for lunchtime 'touring sessions'. As part of that, we give them the usual autocross 'wheel shake' to check the bearings. Want to guess what it is about tires we hate the most? Yup. Armor-all. It stains your hands - badly.

That said, my wife's company (Northern Labs, as 'Kit' and 'Formula 1' brands) makes "Black Magic" (IIRC). It's kind of close to Armor-all but doesn't stain as much and isn't nearly as slippery. Works well on the bumper surrounds and bodyside moldings, too.

I'll have to look for a link I used to have to a Lexus board. Some dipshit posted lamenting how he wrecked his car running it in the rain with the traction control turned off, and warning all his ricer mates to be careful. After some back and forth, he explanied that he had also put Armor-All ON THE TIRE TREAD because he wanted that to be shiny too...

Another endorsement for natural selection.

black magic or any of those types of tire shine are good just make sure to
wipe it with a sponge or rag or something so you don't get splatter (plus it looks better IMO)
and don't use silicone around new paint. dont. it will mess it up

I once saw a Jaguar XKE parked in a mall with Armor-all-bathed tire treads. Sure wish I could have been there to see them pushing it back out ...

Meguair's Endurance Tire Gel.

Come'on guys, get in touch with your feminine side. A little makeup for your tires is OK. Like most things though, don't put it on with a trowel & don't be a dipsh!t about where you put it.

Shifty shaves his legs ya know! That's the ONLY way he beat Duke in the famous footrace at the 1st Annual 5er Fest. Really, it's true! Shifty's dad told me himself. :p :p :p :p

Long live shiny tires!

Dave

Dave, you're just mad that I made fun of your Tire Jeri Curl! Just let your SOUUUUUUUUL GLOOOOOOOW! :D

I don't need any performance advantages to beat Duke. Have you already forgotten about how BADLY he got beaten in 2002? Nothing's gonna change next year when I whip his ass, either! Actually, I might beat him by MORE!

Here's a pic and the video of me whippin Major Duke's ass back in '02. Ahhh, what a pretty sight. :D

Duke, you have NO chance WHATSOEVER at beating me in 2006. NONE. You will lose once again, and I will be the reigning champion, having won two out of three match-ups against you, the only losing one being a sorely weighted-in-your-favor arm wrestling matchup that I only agreed to do because I thought the tie-breaker would be an essay writing contest where Shawn D. would check spelling and grammar! :D
