I have been looking for an e28 for months and this is the exact color combo my dream e28 would be and...

Hence the phrase, "five-speed swap." A few hundred bucks and a weekend fixes that auto problem. Even if you went G265 w/ the M20 bellhousing (which is overkill IMHO) you're still well under $1k for the total swap.

This is really a pretty car. I'm a sucker for a white car anyway. Those "comfort" seats hurt my bad, old back, though. Courtesy bump for a good-looking car!
What a great candidate for a 5-sp. swap!

With you on the old back, comfort seats and the swap. Pretty car for sure.

I have the 5 spd parts from a 150k 82 528e. But first, I wanted to kill the 4hp22. Well, I put 200k on the Borman6 and 14k sofar on B6II's AT. Just 'cuz an AT is s'posed to be put in drive ,etc. You can put it in 2 and take it to 70 mph if you want. . 3 likewise. No, it it doesnt have quite the feel of a real manual. BFD, I also dont have to mess with a hydraulic clutch that only has a 20 yr service life. So I wouldn't convert a perfectly good AT. I consider the AT to be an essential part of what has been an ideal DD/ commuter car. If you are after a useful car, get the auto. If you are after a weekender, go for a stick.
Waaaa...

I'm with you "a", I'm not pulling a perfectly running tranny out of a car with an econo engine. Full drive train swap maybe but that car is too pretty for that much plastic surgery. She's beatiful as is! Plus I think she's already gone...

I didnt want to, but now the huddled, non-enthusiast masses are given a shot. Jim and I were both hoping it would go to someone here. Happy New Year!

Complimentary bump for a very pretty car. Good on Mark for setting the reserve at a VERY reasonable level and having enough faith in the car to be optimistic about it selling for a fair price.
Would be nice for someone around here to snag this one.

Never thought it would end up in Prescott. Interesting.
Why edit your posts to remove all the info? That's ridiculous.

Chris--it is not ridiculous. It chose to remove the link to my personal photobucket, because it frequently contains pictures of my wife and daughter, both of which I choose not to share with the forum. I left a picture of the car in the thread and here is a link to the Ebay ad for many more pictures and a complete description of the car.

I understand deleting the photo link - in fact, that's why I figured you did. I didn't like having to search for the ad in completed items on eBay to find the ad.
Congrats on the sale. I think that was a fair price with the bottlecaps.

Mark: Hard to believe this car only brought $5,700.
Looks like somebody in Prescott really got a bargain.

Not that interesting anymore now that Californians have loaded it up and loaded it up with cookie-cutter houses and shopping centers.
