Tex-Fest, "Lone Star Burgers and Fives Meet" II

2nd annual meet is scheduled for October 22 to 24, 2010.
Host city will be the same, Rockdale, TX.

Here's last years thread.
It began, asking for help, so this one will be no different.
I've gotten a couple of email responses, but would like a few more, especially from somewhere other than H-town. :D
Email me if you're interested and able to help in any way in the planning process.

Let the conversations begin...

Hopefully things will work out DJ.
Would be nice to see you and the wifey again, especially if some of her cooking is involved.
And hey, that E39 M5, I know would really enjoy the trip.

Hi Michael,
Gonna see you this weekend?

There are a couple of things planned that a preliminary head count would help with, so...

Myself and my wife = 2

Don't think I can get Laurie to ride that far with me!

Lodging arrangements have been set up with Days Inn and Suites in Rockdale.
This facility is only one year old.
They serve a complimentary "hot" breakfast.
The pool is fenced and completely private.
All the 'single bed' rooms are king and all the 'double bed' rooms are queens.

Room rates:
Single bed, king = $69.99 per night
Double bed, queen = $79.99 per night

If we get 10 (ten) rooms booked by September 10th
the above rates will drop by $10.00 per night, to;

Single kings = $59.99
Double queens = $69.99

I'm all about saving a few bucks whenever possible,
hopefully you are too and will call in your reservation.
The local number is 512-446-5800.
Mention "BMW Tex-Fest Burgers and Fives" to get the above rates.
The dates are for Friday and Saturday, October 22nd and 23rd.

See you there.

I'd be happy to do another tech session this year. I don't know on what, but I'm sure I can come up with something.

Which of my cars do you want to do the 'install' on?

Anyone know A/C? Is there enough interest to do an A/C tech session? I'm in need; A/C in my 535is and M5 is dead in the water.

Hey, what about my turbo install idea?
I was thinking of my eta.
You can just drive fast with the windows down! ;)

Seriously...
Great suggestion Mark, any others, anybody?
There might be room on the 'schedule of events' for more than one.

Can't wait

I'm definitely in for at least Saturday. I'm not sure if my wife will be with me this year or if I'll be there for Friday night.

Well I should be able to make it out for a day, again it all depends on how the wifey is doing.

Any teenagers coming along? I might have William(18) and his eta. His A/C is out too. Much safer than leaving him home. lol And maybe Courtney(16) too.

Cindy is hired and we should know her schedule early next week.

Cin said to let you know attendance isn't a commitment to cook however. ;)

It is/will be a family friendly event.
Last year there were several participants with younger children.
I know of a couple of the younger generation who will be there this year, in their own cars.

Congrats to Cindy on the J O B.
Now let's pray the right schedule in.
Bummer on the cookin', but we can live with that.
Our women need a bit of "off, R & R" time, and this is that time.
No cookin', cleanin', but they'll still have to be lookin' after their adult child, :haul: .

DJ - edit in the shirt sizes, for all 4, just in case. :D

Swap meet?

Sherman,

You should see if those that are comming would be intersted in this. We can list what spares we have before we come out on the computer. Find a trade and swap. I also enjoyed the raffle you had for parts. That was fun.

Hey Sherm and everyone, put me down for a very good probably, maybe, hopefully. Just bought a 1988 535i 5-speed 15 minutes ago. Extremely nice 4-owner car, that is like a one owner and incredible service and maintenance. Should be a great starting point.....long term project though for now, just a driver. But I am baaaaccckkkkk! Hope to make the trip. Will confirm as soon as I get Kitchen Pass. After the year I am having and the money I just spent and should not have, I have to be delicate. Talk to you soon. -Rob
