US Bumpers with Euro M5 Spoiler

Post by Shawn D. »

I finally got around to getting a decent pic of my US 535i sporting its Euro M5 spoiler. The spoiler is installed on a US valance, not a Euro valance -- the two are variations of the same stamping and there is no difference between the two where the spoiler mounts.

Image

Note that I opted to not open up the slots in the middle of the spoiler that correspond with the slots in the valance. I saw no difference in water temperatures and the in-town oil temperature is the same, but the highway oil temperature went up by 15°F (~180° to ~195°).

(edit) oh i should read all of the post its the same as go4carters
oh, I actually have one of those front spoilers at home, I just need to get an pre 1985 front bumper (the part where the fog lamps and the blinker are bolted for the euro e28) so I can put it on my e28.

That part is not the bumper, but the valance.

The front looks like the Zender air dam sitting in my shed. And the back looks like the Zender, also.

Anybody know what wheels these are? They look kind of similar to AC Schnitzers, but I don't recall ever seeing these on any members rides before.

Looks like HREs of some kind, though I don't see the exact type on their website.

Thanks for the replies gents! IMO, they're one of the sharpest looking 5-spokes. Depending on what diameter/width/offset they are or were available in, I may see if I can find a set. Let me guess, in that condition, they're $3k or more.
