Picture/Part number request?
Well Brian despite his hunting threw the ETK and Microfiche couldn't find this part number. I've got the 88 up 535i/735i Fuel injector harness cover and want to mount it. It's got an upper and lower half and has two access covers for 2 screws to secure it. I need to find the brackets and bolts. If any body has a picture of how it mounts that would also be Helpfull.
Here is a Picture
It's the Cover There right under the throttle body, A ton of wires goe threw the sucker.
I've got everything needed to convert my 1984 633csi engine to Motronic 1.3 and will be ussing this cover and the other Throttle and AFM Covers the B35 uses.

Ya the Upper cover has the part number 1 710 557 on it. The Screw Covers have the number 1 711 432 on them, Then on the Lower half it has a plastic ring with the part number 1 711 435, and is attached with 1 711 434. But no Part number on the Lower cover it self. I'm going to take it in to Brian Monday when i pick up my parts and see if anything comes up. All he found has the E34 525i fuel rail cover but that is just onsided and dosn't have the harness it self going threw it.
Those small black caps can be pulled off are there Bolts under there? That's what I'm trying to figure out is if it is just held down by the fuel injectors or if there are brackets and bolts that go threw those 2 caps to hold it down(I don't know why it would have removable caps and a recess if it didn't bolt down).
But thanks for the pics
Here are Pics of what I'm talking about, those caps can be Pryed off.

if i remember correctly when i took it off at one point that when you pop open the top half of the holder there are 2 or 3 bolts inside that hold the bottom to the intake manifold.. i dont remember mine having those caps but i'll check tonight.. i would guess those are just access points to the bolts.. i remember opening it though because i remember all the wires inside..
Ok I found the Bracket I believe in the ETK

#7 is the Bracket is shows 2 of them
#3 is the Black Plastic Cap
Still Can't find anything on the Housing it self or the 2 5mm allen bolts that hold it down.

12521731709 Is the Part Number Brian found for The Upper cover, but it's only available in Europe and the ETK dosn't even show
as Diagram or parts use for it, I couldn't find a part number for the Lower half So Brian's not sure if it's all one item or what.
But I just ordered the brackets and will be going to the Hardware store Tuesday when they show up to find some allen bolts that fit.

i checked mine out and my little brackets must be in a ziploc bag in a box somewhere in the storage unit.. but they are definately needed.. the housing doesnt sit close enough for those allen bolts to reach.. i believe they are M6x1.0x25 if that helps at all.. the ones holding the brackets on i think are are M6x1.0x10.. i've got some M6x1.0x12.5 bolts here at home (box of about 1000 of them).. were throwing them away at work so i took them.. i can send you a couple if you want (but i'm sure you could get them at the local ACE, etc)..
i did a google search for the 1 710 558 number and it came up in a post that looks like Duke responded to someone on the e28 M5 roadfly board. The guy was Edward and was going through the same thing you are. Post said he was doing a Korman/somebody twin turbo M535i with a M102? or something like that... may want to see if Duke knows who he is and try emailing him.. he didnt have an email listed in the roadfly post..

There's a 5mm internal hex drive (Allen) cap screw under the plastic cap which holds down the black plastic conduit.
