Real Drivetrain Problems??

Who has blown up or seriously damaged any MAJOR drivetrain components running say 8+ psi? I 'm talking about parts like a differential (small or big housing) or a tranny or driveshaft or halfshaft that was perfectly healthy before big power, then failed under the introduction of big power. I'm not talikn about obvious things like clutches and guibo's, etc.. I'm taliking really blown up too - like you left it in the road.

I'm not aware of anything/anyone out there in the FI communtiy that has had a hard failure due to big HP.

Just curious.

Piston ring lands in the 325i and likely the 535i. Drove both home. Please call me today. I need the tranny badly!

I've blow up a number of diffs with a naturally aspriated car. If you aren't blowing them up, you are not driving hard enough.

I'll call you tonight and while we are making this our own private forum, here's some status: The tranny is done aside from some stiffer valvebody springs I'm trying to source that I must have so you can go really really really fast :p

Small case or big case? Does it really matter? One obviously holds more juice, but is it stronger too??
