I doubt anyone will tell you it's a bad idea, but you should consider the amount of $$$$ you are willing to spend on a high-quality turbo kit like the ones from TCD or whether you have the knowledge to build one up yourself. What do you want to spend? What are your goals? How knowledgable are you about the subject?

Im not very knolageable about turbos. My buddy has a talon that runs low 12s and he told me he could do it for like a grand. i wanna put my car up for the winter and get some things done. I would like to get like a 13 14 in the 1/4 . I just want a decent turbo that gives it a good kick.

Classic. Sounds like a recipe for a non-running money pit. If you have a budget, you shouldn't be thinking about turboing a 1983 E28.

Right,
Talons already have a turbo installed. Thats a big deal right there. With a E28, you gotta get the turbo, then make it get big boost like a Talon. Its always easier to get hp from a car that already has boost.

im in the middle of this . ill tell ya when im done if you want . but i dont think im going to be very happy. i know its not going to produce as much hp and trk as i was hoping. but if you just want to hear a turbo spin go for it . thats basicaly what i m doing it for till next winter untill i properly learn how to use megga squirt. then im doing my m30 swapp . i got me a test animal. an yes i know they are two diffrent motors. but practis is practis right :)
