Hi,
I would like to charge my engine / M30B35/ with supercharger. The issue I´m trying to solve is programmable control unit.
I found a note here that there´s something I can do with original BMW control unit (# 059).
Because my English is not very good it is difficult for me to read all replies on this forum.
Is there anybody here who can tell me the truth? Is this control unit programmable? If so is this control unit suitable for charging?
Thank you
Matyas

M30 with supercharger-ECU
That control unit isnt really programmable, but you can have a new chip made for the control unit that will be more suitable for a supercharged engine. To get a new chip made for the control unit would be relatively expensive.
Another solution is to use the control unit as it is with a fuel management unit, also known as a rising rate fuel pressure regulator or RRFPR. Click on the following link for some more information on a RRFPR:

I used the 2025 model on my turbocharged engine up to about 11 psi or .75 bar of boost. The ignition timing curves are okay up to a certain amount of boost, and the RRFPR adds fuel by increasing fuel pressure with the superchargers boost pressure.
That is what I would use for a low boost system.
Other than that, you can also remove the stock control unit altogether and install standalone fuel injection such as Megasquirt.

Re: M30 with supercharger-ECU
If you have a B35 you probably don't have a 059 ECU. Not that it changes the answer above really, just FYI.Matyas wrote:Hi,
