So I think I have decided to do a 745i turbo motor in my car. I was wondering what i need to do to make the motor fit in my car? With my getrag 265 work with the 745 motor? I have a 3.73 lsd and a 3.25 lsd in my garage. Which one should I run with the 745 motor? Thank you for all your help in this topic and my others.

To share some time and experience with you I began with a complete 745i M106 engine in MyE28 with all of the M106 wiring harnesses ECU knock box and stuff. This was mated to a getrag 260 and a 3.07 diff. Then it progressed to just the M106 engine with the 059 moronic. Several broken ring lands later I built a B35 motor from scratch and had the head machined to accept the M106 745i exhaust studs and bolted the log manifold along with the K27 turbo to it. Scrapped the M106 block. Ran for a while like this with the Motronic wiring harness and 061 ECU. It ran but did not perform like it should. Several months later I tore out the 061 ECU with wiring harness built a Megasquirt with wiring harness swapped the 260 for a 265 and she is now 10X better than she ever was with the stock M106 ECU.
Of course the added 9:1 compression and the tunable Megasquirt accounts for 9 out of the 10X. Many knock the "stock" BMW turbo parts but then the only turboed BMW I can compare this to is from a ride in Lucifer's Hammer and dollar for dollar or Horsepower per horsepower my meager build is a moped. Sure I could have purchased a "bolt on" turbo kit, let someone else reprogram my 059 ECU, let someone else build my B35 engine, or build my megasquirt, but in the end I would not have learned anything and I would be at the mercy of others if something did not work right.
In a long winded way to answer your question can you fit a M106 to your e28 yes. What do you need to make it fit? Bolt the driver side 535i engine bracket to the 745i block and find or buy a 1982 533i passenger side bracket and a M5 rubber engine mount for the passenger side of the 745i block. You will have 1/2 inch of clearance from the wastegate to the ABS brake lines. Does the G265 work with the engine, yes. If you want a workable first gear use the 3.25 if not use the 3.73. I am sure others have more info.
