Unfortunately, it won't fit your car.
You can put your tires in the car, too.
Two in the trunk and two in the back seat.
If it won't fit 'cuz of the bumpers: The times, they be achangin'!
The fronts in mid conversion and the rear's ... Umm, right behind! http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=84520
I wanna be cool like the check book racers 'n have a trailer and all ... Next year it'll be a motor home!
Also, I don't think it is compatible with any trailer manufactured in North America. You would have to build a custom trailer or modify one and fit the euro tongue. You would also need to modify that wiring harness to the standard flat 4 (or modify the trailer's plug). And after all that, it might not be legal to tow anything over here with that hitch due to DOT regs. It could be legal, though, since none of my friends have been hassled with their home made hitches.
50mm ball is close enough to 2" that it'll work. The plug would need adapting, though.
Curiously, as far as I can tell there are zero enforced regs on trailer hitches installed on passenger vehicles.

Good call on the ball size. For some reason I thought it was a 40mm ball. Wiring is easy enough to change. This thing would be neat to have. I think all the regulations are on commercial production and sale of trailer hitches, not really the use... I've made my own hitches and not had problems. I imagine things might be different if you made your own hitch and it failed.

Unless it falls off and the driver of the other car sues you.

I run into the same thing with people asking if the products that I mfg are DOT approved or not. A very misunderstood area.
