Drilled out the sheared off bolt to my water pump. Now thats all sorted.
Took off the standard oil filter housing and mounted the unit that has the cooler lines.
Secured my replacement radiator.
Finished the orders for all the parts needed for my turbo build.
Everything is now either here or on the way.
I hope to have the new and improved "grey ghost" running in about two weeks.

Eric came over to look at the B7, and I decided to pull out the auxiliary fuel tank (which you have to do to get the in-tank pump out). I guess the concept of captive nuts was foreign to even Alpina. In-tank pump and sender are super nasty-looking and the tank is full of icky, putrid fuel. Blech. I'll siphon the fuel out of the tank, pull it out and go have the pair boiled out.
You know this car requires a 'build thread' right? now that I have a proper tool kit I tightened my interior pieces that had vibrated loose... no more catching my foot on the dash when moving from gas to brake!
also began hollowing out the converter. During this I found it had rusted through in a couple places allowing my friend to weld up the leaks. Sealed it all with muffler cement to fill the pin holes.
what a pain, my jack didn't go high enough and my friends just barely did to allow me to squeeze under the car enough to use the air tools. Man oh man did an air hammer ever make short work of that catalyst.

I finally decided to look at where fuel tank tubes and stuff to see if I could see where the leak was coming from. I think I found the reason my car was only getting about 150 miles per tank. One of the tubes that was leaking and gas would squirt out of it. Ordered a new one so I should be good. Also, got a 3.25 LSD from a E32 from the yards, cleaned it up, new oil, and its in the car. Can't wait to drive it.
A few months ago, I had a leaky fuel line, it would drip right onto the exhaust pipeE.rouzbeh.28 wrote:I finally decided to look at where fuel tank tubes and stuff to see if I could see where the leak was coming from. Sent the piggy off to the tip, after removing the pedal box and clutch master. Have to helicoil the oil drain on my bronzit, as the fucking thing is stripped and it dumped it's load all over the garage floor during the night. I do have a replacement oil pan that I need to put on it at some stage, but I really cannot be bothered just yet. S'bout it.

Drove the M5 to work.....nice new Euro nose and spoiler.....and a &%$%!!(@(! gravel hauler had it's tailgate flap open a half-mile or so in front of me! Dumped a large load of chippy-nasty rocks and sand all over the NYS Thruway
Ahh well. I'll re-spray the tow-hook covers tonight. No broken lights or chips in the (new) windshield, so that's good.
They are made to be driven, right?
