I believe they use the same pads as a 2002 or an E12 5-series. Not an upgrade on the E28 as pad area is quite a bit smaller.

I think an E12 is it, not sure about a 2002. The spacing between the bolts that mount the calipers is different from an E28, that's why upgrading the E23 is nearly impossible.

Bolt spacing is the same as e12 and earlier, can't say for e28. Centering on the rotor may vary. Won't fit 2002 or e21, bolt spacing is different. Only a single inlet, so they are not a bolt on for e12 or earlier which use dual line fronts.
Basically, they're good for e23's...
As far as pad size, mefinks you be high, mon -- e28 pads are not much if any larger than e12 pads, just a different shape.

OK...so I'm wrong on pad surface area. It feels good, though, since I'm probably really high!
