Wastegate options for 745 manifold

Post by bimmerboy »

With most of my parts collected, and my Megasquirt now slightly soldered, I'm getting close to being able to call this a project. But the problem is, my manifold, which isn't here yet, has neither the wastegate elbow or the wastegate. Which means I have to find/make something to replace both. Or find the stock parts. But I'm interested in the use of audi parts. The old 10v and 20v turbo parts were very good gates, the 10v wg is supposedly good enough to control boost at 500chp, and the 20v is slightly bigger. I wouldn't be surprised if they bolted up either, old german cars tend to use the same patterns. But I have no idea if the audi elbow would bolt up. I don't want to spend a lot of money making this work, to the point where I could go and buy a Tial. I was looking at the TCD 745 tial, but since it uses the stock elbow, that doesn't get me very far.

Any ideas?

I'd suggest asking Dan Miller at Miller performance.

You can find him over at scottie sharpe's 745i site.

Call TCD. We may be able to make a TCD/TiAL setup for you. I have an elbow in my little shop of horrors... matter of fact, I have the whole 745 wastegate.

Like I said in the other Scottie Sharpe thread - why don't you contact him directly instead of posting shit here?

Got anything useful to say about Miller performance? Wastegates? Anything at all . . . ?

Didn't know there was another thread. :dunno:

And umm yeah...contacting a spammer to request being taken off a mailing list??

Miller Performance? Only the obvious. Their stuff is expensive.

You posted rude sh*t over in the other thread, so yeah, that's the thread I'm talking about.

As for wastegates - you asked a question, I gave you the best answer. The OP islooking for a solution, silly me.
